ATT.NET PASSWORD RESET Problems - Fix Now

Keep in mind that resetting your email password may also reset the password you use to sign in to AT&T.


Tips: If the Password you need to reset is also used to access the same email account from your smartph0ne, you will need to update the email settings on your smartph0ne.

Also, if you access your email through a third-party email client, be sure to change your password to ensure uninterrupted email service.


AT&T email Forgot Password


If you recently changed the password for your AT&T User ID, try to sign in to your email using that new password. If that doesn’t work, reset your password:

  1. Go to AT&T.
  2. Select Forgot Password?
  3. Complete the password info.
  4. Choose security questions or temporary password and follow the prompts.
    If you choose temporary password, we’ll let you know where we sent it. 
  5. Create your new password.


Reset your att email password with security questions


Follow these steps to reset your password by answering your security questions.


If you don’t remember them, you can update your security questions and answers. You can also follow the next set of instructions to reset with a temporary password.

  1. Visit the Forgot Password page.
  2. Select Password.
  3. Enter your full AT&T email address and your last name.
  4. Select Continue.
  5. From the drop-down menu, select I'll answer my security questions.
  6. Answer the security questions that you set for your account.
  7. Select Continue.
  8. Follow the prompts to create your new password.


Once successful, you’ll receive confirmation that your password has been reset. It may take up to five minutes for the new password to take effect.


Important information about shared passwords for att.net and att.com

  • If you have an Access ID with an AT&T email address associated with the email, the password will be the same on att.com and att.net.
  • If you change your password, it changes for both your Access ID and your email address.
  • Always use your AT&T email address to complete these instructions, even if it's merged with a yahoo.com email address.
  • The following instructions are valid for both primary and secondary email addresses and for all AT&T email address domains ( bellsouth.net, flash.net, prodigy.net, s wans.net, nvbell.net, att.net, ameritech.net, pacbell.net, swbell.net, snet.net ). 

Reset your AT&T password with a temporary password


If you don’t know the answers to your security questions, follow these steps.


Note: This method is only available if you have saved to your account  a contact email address that is different from the address for which you are attempting to reset the password.

  1. Visit the Forgot Password page.
  2. Select Password.
  3. Enter your AT&T email address and your last name.
  4. Select Continue.
  5. From the drop-down menu, select Send me a temporary password.
  6. Select how you’d like the temporary password sent to you.
  7. Select Continue. Check for the temporary password.
  8. Copy the temporary password and enter it in the provided field. Follow the instructions to create a new, permanent password. If you mistakenly close the window, you can use your temporary password one time by going to the myAT&T sign-in page. You will then be prompted to create your new password.


Change your AT&T email password

Update an email password using a smartph0ne, tablet, or computer.


For security reasons, it’s a great idea to change your password regularly. You can do this on myAT&T.

  1. Go to your Sign-in info.
  2. Select Change password.
  3. Enter and save your password info.

NOTE: Your new password may also apply to your AT&T User ID. 


Forgot ATT Email Password


  1. Visit the Forgot Password page.
  2. Select Password.
  3. Enter your ATT email address and your last name.
  4. Select Continue.
  5. From the drop-down menu, select Send me a temporary password.
  6. Select how you’d like the temporary password sent to you.
  7. Select Continue. Check for the temporary password.
  8. Copy the temporary password and enter it in the provided field. Follow the instructions to create a new, permanent password. If you mistakenly close the window, you can use your temporary password one time by going to the myAT&T sign-in page. You will then be prompted to create your new password.


ATT Email Password Reset - Bellsouth Email Password Reset


From a web program, go to the web address "att.net".

Tap on Sign in interface from the upper right hand side of the landing page. You will be re-coordinated to the Login page.
On the off chance that you have overlooked your Bellsouth email secret key, at that point the login blunder message will show up on your screen.
Tap on 'Forgot Bellsouth email Password?' interface underneath the Password field. It will take you to att.com Password Reset area.

Now check Password box. Please enter your User ID and your Last Name. Click on Continue button.

You can now choose to receive a temporary password or answer your security questions. Select ‘Send me a temporary password’ or ‘I’ll answer my security questions’.

If you select a temporary password, then AT&T will send you an email with a new temporary password in your recovery email address. Log in using that temporary password and now create a new password for bellsouth.net login.

If you remember your security questions and answers, simply answer your security questions 1 & 2 and click Continue. Now create a new password.

Shared password for AT&T Access ID and AT&T email

Update password on your smartph0ne


If the email password you just changed is also used to access the same email account on your smartph0ne, you will need to change the email settings on your smartph0ne.

Often, the password you use to sign in to your email and myAT&T are the same. Even though you might get your email at att.net, you’ll always manage your email password on att.com (myAT&T).

I don’t know my password and can’t sign in


Go to myAT&T.

  1. Select Forgot Password?
  2. Complete the password info.
  3. Choose security questions or temporary password and follow the prompts.
    If you choose temporary password, we’ll let you know where we sent it.

Troubleshoot a locked account


If you’re unable to access your email account and you’ve gotten a message that it’s been locked, this has occurred for your protection. Usually, it's as simple as a typo or wrong password being entered too many times.
